Park Min Young fans – heads up!
It appears the 39-year-old Korean actress is currently in talks to star in a remake of the Japanese pyschological mystery drama ‘Ice World‘ (aka Koori no Sekai), which originally premiered in October, 1999.
The new K-drama is being talked about by Korean broadcaster JTBC in an exclusive report, who also stated Park Min Young will be playing the female lead.

In response, one of her representatives said “The drama is currently being reviewed as one of the actress’s proposed works.”
What is upcoming K-drama Siren about?
The drama, which currently has the working title ‘Siren‘, is named after the Sirens in Greek mythology.
They are a female human-like being who first appeared in Homer’s Odyssey, when the protagonist Odysseus saves his ship’s crew from the alluring voices of mysterious entities that would lure them to their deaths by having them plug their ears with wax.
In the original Japanese drama ‘Ice World‘, a teacher named Sonoe dies after a tragic accident, but insurance investigator Eiki (played by Takenouchi Yutaka), and police detective Takeshi (Nakamura Toru) link Sono’s death to fellow teacher Egi Toko, and to the suspicious deaths of her three fiancés.
Obviously, Park Min Young will play the Korean version of Egi Toko.
While nothing has been released about the Korean version of ‘Ice World‘, it is likely the original J-drama will have a similar plot but will be adapted so that it is more relevant to Korean society.
Should Park Min Young accept the ‘Siren‘ role, it will be her most recent drama since The Confidence Man KR alongside Joo Jong Hyuk and Park Hee Soon, which is currently in production and scheduled to premiere some time this year.
Last year, the Korean actress also starred in the smash-hit K-drama Marry My Husband, and the Chinese drama Braveness of the Ming.
That C-drama was finally released last September (although currently not for international audiences, sadly).
