With how much buzz there has been over the last week about the Korean drama When the Phone Rings, I am not remotely surprised to see the mystery thriller not only still on the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart, but climbing two spots higher compared to last week.
The just-released data via Netflix shows When the Phone Rings moved up the Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart for the period November 25th to December 1st due to earning double the number of views of last week.
That data has When the Phone Rings being viewed 6.6 million times last week, compared to the previous week’s 3.3 million.
The K-drama was also watched for 29.7 million hours worldwide during the same period, compared to last week’s 7.4 million hours.
Finally, just to prove the Korean crime thriller is popular in many regions of the world, Netflix is also reporting it made it into the Top 10 in 52 countries.
Those countries include Greece, Portugal and Romania in Europe, much of Asia, Egypt, Kenya and Morocco in Africa, and Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela and Peru in the Americas.
Oddly, it is always rare to see a Korean drama hit the Top 10 in the United States or Canada and that, sadly, is the case here.
