The artists’ clenched way of singing in Bishop Briggs ‘Someone Else‘ feat. Jacob Banks perfectly illustrates the emotion in this gorgeous song
Incredibly talented British American singer songwriter Bishop Briggs has collaborated with the amazing Nigerian-born English R&B soul singer songwriter Jacob Banks to film a new music video for their song ‘Someone Else‘.
The song was originally a promotional single for Briggs’ 2019 album Champion and, up until now, has not had an official music video.
Now with a music video with both singers in a room standing back-to-back, perfectly showing their estrangement from each other, and the tight-clenched-jaw-way they both sing illustrating the constricted emotions in the song — the music video could not be more wonderful.
Especially as ‘Someone Else‘ ends, back in real life, with the two giggling at each other with uncontrollable joy.
Why Bishop Briggs chose Jacob Banks to sing ‘Someone Else‘
In a comment on the YouTube video, Briggs herself talked about why she had written the song, and why she had so desperately wanted Jacob Banks to sing it with her:
And yes, she is correct about Jacob Banks.
A singer who, while he has definitely made a splash in certain areas of the music world, should still be far more recognized and listened to than he currently is.
