Britney Spears cover of Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tom’s Diner’ is electronic and cool

Britney Spears is certainly someone who never minds trying something new. Case in point, Britney’s new release — an electronic cover of Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tom’s Diner’. It’s completely different than the original track, absolutely electronic and, frankly, it’s addictive and I like it.

Spears collaborated with iconic record producer Giorgio Moroder to come up with this new version of ‘Tom’s Diner‘, and he’s obviously a man who saw something in Britney Spears other producers may not have. A possibility to be ‘cool’ again maybe?

The track starts out very Vega-esque, but by the time the “Duh, duh, duh. duhs” are over with, Britney Spears has already gone full electronic vocals, and so does the music.

Britney Spears’ version of ‘Tom’s Diner‘ will be on Giorgio Moroder’s new album Déjà Vu, which will be released on June 12th. The 12-track album also includes Moroder’s collaborations with Sia, Mikky Ekko, Kylie Minogue and Charli XCX. Should be interesting.

Now listen to Britney below.
