Carrie Underwood’s ‘Something in the Water’ – You Don’t Have to be Religious (Video)

I’m not remotely religious. At least where organized religion is concerned. But, that doesn’t mean I’m not loving Carrie Underwood‘s new single – ‘Something in the Water‘. Sure, it’s full of religious lyrics and, yep, Carrie she’s a good Christian girl but, so what? The single is still beautiful and Underwood’s voice is incredible.

As for some of the lyrics:

“So I followed that preacher man down to the river, and now I’m changed, and now I’m stronger
There must have been something in the water, there must have been something in the water
And well I heard what he said and I went on my way, didn’t think about it for a couple of days
Then it hit me like lightning late one night, I was all out of hope and all out of fight
Couldn’t fight back the tears, so I fell on my knees, saying “God if you’re there, come and rescue me
Felt love pouring down from above, got washed in the water, washed in the blood
And now I’m changed, and now I’m stronger,
There must be something in the water, there must be something in the water……

Yep, them there are some religious lyrics, and further into the song even include a Bible verse, but they’re beautiful. And Carrie Underwood’s voice? So incredibly powerful. In fact, she’s the type of singer that could probably bring you to religion.

Listen to ‘Something in the Water’ below.

Edit – October 1st – I’ve now been listening to ‘Something in the Water’ for two days straight as it really is that good. In fact, it deserves to be a smash hit.
