Christine and the Queens’ ‘People, I’ve Been Sad’ performance on Skavlan is gorgeous

French pop singer songwriter Christine and the Queens, aka Chris, gave a gorgeous live performance of ‘People, I’ve Been Sad‘ on the Norwegian-Swedish talk show Skavlan this week.

‘People I’ve Been Sad‘ is Christine and the Queens’ latest single, which was released via Because Music last month and is sung in both English and her native French.

The track is from Christine and the Queens’ 6-track EP La vita nuova, and is somewhat similar in feel to her previous release ‘Girlfriend’.

People, I’ve Been Sad‘ is much more stark than most of the pop singer’s previous releases. Sung as it is with just the singer against a solid backdrop, and all done with a sense of utter melancholy.

The same can be said for the stunning music video that accompanied the release of the track.

A video created in collaboration with German music platform COLORS and, again, with just Christine singing the song on a stark stage — sadly intimate and, this time, while beautifully framed in lilac.

Watch Christine and the Queens’ live performance of ‘People, I’ve Been Sad‘ on Skavlan in the video below. Then don’t miss her lovely COLORS video below that.

After all, the French artist might be incredibly sad, but she still knows how to put on a beautiful performance.
