It’s pretty much a given nowadays, that every time I write about Conchita Wurst (okay……it’s almost every day), I mention her spectacular voice and how lovely she is. But, even this writer was blown away by La Wurst’s appearance at La Fête de la Musique in Montpellier, Paris last night. Why? Because she rocked the Jean Paul Gaultier dress she wore and she looked like an angel in it.
As for her performance, Ms. Wurst sang just one song at the La Fête de la Musique concert but, yes, she sang it perfectly.
The song? ‘Rise Like a Phoenix‘, of course, which, after this stunning rendition of her Eurovision hit, probably left half the audience wondering how much higher is this particular phoenix going to fly?
After all, by now, she must be somewhere up in the stratosphere and is showing no signs of ever coming down.
Watch Conchita’s appearance in Paris below and, believe me when I tell you, she’s one of a select group of musicians that can actually sing as well live as she sounds recorded. And that’s a feat in itself.
Combine that with stunning looks, gracefulness beyond measure, the heart-stopping way she dips her head and looks up at you from underneath her lashes, and the ability to wear a Jean Paul Gaultier creation so that she actually wears it and it’s not wearing her – and, if this woman isn’t a superstar before the year is out, there’s no justice in the world at all.
