Conchita Wurst rocks at Stockholm Pride 2014

In the last couple of months, I’ve been loving watching Conchita Wurst’s live performances around Europe as, with every new one she does, she’s becoming better and better.

So much so it’s almost a given nowadays that a Conchita Wurst live performance is going to be spectacular. Which, of course, was the case at Stockholm Pride last night where Conchita sang ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ to an adoring, and very vocal, audience.

I have to admit, though, I did close my eyes during the beginning moments of Conchita’s Stockholm Pride performance, as she stood in a spotlight on a narrow platform high above the main stage.

Why? Because I knew she was going to have to descend down a flight of the most dangerous looking onstage stairs I’ve seen in a while and, in her impossibly high stiletto heels, I could just see her coming a cropper.

After all, watching Conchita Wurst falling down the stairs and ending up in a heap at the bottom was not something my frail heart could deal with. I love her too much.

Luckily, as you’ll see in the video below she made it perfectly without incident and delivered another first-rate ‘Rise’ performance.

And, might I also add, another ‘live’ live performance, as so many singers nowadays are relying on taped vocals when they perform, but not our lovely Conchita.  Her performance was filmed by an audience member, so you really get to feel the power of her voice when you’re standing right in front of her, as well as the audience’s reaction to her.

Lovely. Lovely. Lovely.
