Death Cab for Cutie announces UK and Europe Tour 2019 kicking off in Dublin

Alternative rock band Death Cab for Cutie has just announced a short UK and Europe Tour, 2019.

The tour will kick off at the Olympia in Dublin, Ireland on January 24th, 2019, then head to Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Bristol and London in the UK.

Death Cab for Cutie will then play concerts in Paris, Antwerp, Utrecht, C0logne, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. Their last concert on the tour in Oslo will be on February 12th so, yep, it’s a lighting fast tour and doesn’t honestly cover that much of Europe.

Still, better a short tour than nothing.

The pre-sale for tickets for Ireland and the UK will be on Wednesday, 20th June at 9am BST/10am CET .  General onsale tickets will then be available on Friday, 22nd June at 9am BST 10am CET.

The tour will follow the band’s North American tour, which will start up in the fall.

The two tours, of course, are to support the band’s upcoming ninth studio album announced yesterday. Called Thank You For Today, that album will release on August 17th.

The first single from the album, ‘Gold Rush‘, was also released yesterday. And, although not one of my favorite songs from the band, I am still holding out hope Thank You For Today will be as brilliant an offering as Kintsugi.

How about you?
