With various commentators on social media both internationally and in South Korea saying the ongoing K-drama Destined with You has become an almighty mess, it probably isn’t surprising the drama has never managed to earn particularly good ratings in Korea.

Those ratings dropped back down again for Episode 9 last night after the drama earned its highest ever ratings for Episode 8.

According to Nielsen Korea, Destined with You, Episode 9 aired on JTBC in South Korea with a 2.58 percent rating nationwide.

That rating is a drop from Episode 8’s rating of 2.94 percent, and lower than the drama earned for its first episode on August 23rd.

In Seoul, the drama saw the same outcome with Destined with You, Episode 9 earning 2.77 percent, which was a substantial fall from its previous episode’s 3.14 percent.

The nationwide rating placed the drama in 15th place, while its rating in Seoul placed it in 5th place.

Destined with You on Netflix

On Netflix, the drama is doing much better with a current 5th place on the streaming platform’s Top 10 most-watched non-English TV series list for the week of September 11th through September 17th.

That is slightly down from its #3 spot on the list during its first week of airing, but still a strong position for the drama with international viewers.

The next episode of Destined with You will air on JTBC at 22:30 (KST), with Netflix streaming the episode soon after.

Let’s see how well, or poorly, the ratings for the drama pan out tonight.

Meanwhile, watch the trailer for Episode 10 via JTBC Drama below. It’s in Korean, but you will get the gist.
