There’s a new poster out to celebrate the full-year extension of the ongoing Chinese donghua Tales of Herding Gods, which released its 27th episode on April 20th.
And yes, just in case you missed the news, Tales of Herding Gods did not end with last week’s Episode 26.
Instead, a full year of episodes is being released beginning with Episode 27, which dropped in China this morning.
The Tales of Herding Gods launch poster features protagonist Qin Mu’er now all grown-up, and heading to the Dark Realm to try to learn more about his origins.
Behind him, we see the Imperial Preceptor of Yankang Nation cutting an imposing figure, which likely means we aren’t yet done with that country or those people.
Nor may we ever be.
The poster was released via animation studio Sparkly Key‘s Weibo account, along with the explanatory message:
#TalesOfHerdingGodsDonghuaAnnualPremiere# Launch Poster revealed
Congrats on Tales of Herding Gods’ Annual Edition’s non-stop release! The Dark Realm is eerily treacherous—watch Qin Mu cut through heaven and earth with his blade! Mountains high, rivers long—the road stretches far.
Qin Mu’s origins remain shrouded in mystery, while tensions between Daxu and Yankang reach a breaking point. The plot thickens!
With youthful passion as his oath and an unshaken heart as his vow, the annual edition kicks off a new adventure—more thrills await!
They then remind donghua fans Tales of Herding Gods will continue to release a new episode every Sunday at 11:00 AM on Bilibili in China, with episodes planned to hit every week for a full year.
The donghua itself has currently been watched more than 400 million times on Bilibili alone since its first episode premiered on October 27th.
Enjoy the new launch poster, along with the trailer for Episode 27 below.
And, of course, check out Episode 27 of Tales of Herding Gods via Bilibili (their own streaming platform and their YouTube channel) when it hits later on today if you’re a subscriber.
If not, it will release for everyone else next week.
