Wow. English singer Ellie Goulding has just done a fabulous cover of Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church‘. So fabulous, I like it much much better than the original.
Goulding has slowed the song down, stripped it back to its absolute basics and added a more electronic pop sound, yet also a sound that’s a lot more heart-rending and seductive than the Hozier version — particularly when she sings “Amen. Amen”. At least to me.
