Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin to star in Trunk? A marriage agency story about two people who don’t want to get married

Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin are likely starring in a new Netflix drama called Trunk (working title).

The South Korean actors’ latest project was announced earlier today on various Korean entertainment news media, with the pair’s agency, Management SOOP, confirming they have both received offers and are both considering them “positively”.

Trunk (aka 트렁크 in Korean) tells the story of what happens when a fixed-term marriage service agency arranges a marriage with a desired spouse.

The project is being directed by Kim Gyu Tae (It’s Okay, That’s Love), with the script, which is based on a novel of the same name, written by screenwriter Park Eun Young (Hwarang).

Korean media is reporting Gong Yoo has been offered the role of music director Han Jeong Won, a man who believes every marriage is nothing but deception.

Seo Hyun Jin is in talks to play the part of Noh Ji, the marriage agency’s deputy general manager, and a woman who has seen many people getting married, so has decided to remain single.

Gong Yoo recently starred in the drama The Silent Sea, and the movie Seobok.

He is also known for his main roles in dramas like Goblin, Coffee Prince, Big, and One Fine Day, and in movies like Kim Ji Young: Born 1982, The Age of Shadows, A Man and a Woman and Train to Busan.

As for Seo Hyun Jin, the actress and singer starred in the hit legal drama Why Her? in 2022, and is also known for her main drama roles in The Beauty Inside, Temperature of Love, Black Dog, Another Miss Oh and Dr. Romantic.

She has also starred in movies like Because I Love You, Mystery Pink, and Dating on Earth.

Her most recent film was Cassiopeia, where she played the role of Su Jin, a lawyer who is suddenly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s after being in a car accident.
