Heartbeat, Episode 2 ratings fell but no cause for concern yet

The new vampire-themed rom com Heartbeat, Episode 2 aired on KBS2 in South Korea last night with ratings that fell compared to its first episode.

According to Nielsen Korea, Heartbeat, Episode 2 garnered 3.5 percent of the audience share nationwide.

That is down from its first episode’s ratings of 4.1 percent.

In Seoul, the drama also saw its ratings fall from 4.1 percent of the audience share to 3.7 percent.

That being said, Heartbeat, Episode 2 was the 14th most-watched show nationwide and the 9th most-watched in Seoul.

That is an improvement over its previous episode’s 17th and 13th places.

As I also say after the second episode of any new drama, unless it drops so much it probably will not recover, a drop off in the ratings of this caliber after the first episode airs is normal.

It is what happens over the next few episodes that tends to show how a drama will fare throughout the rest of its run.

Where to watch the Korean drama Heartbeat?

Heartbeat stars Ok Taec Yeon, Won Ji An, Park Kang Hyun, and Yoon So Hee, and tells the story of the romance between a half-human, half-vampire man and one of the least empathetic fully-human women on the planet.

The romantic comedy drama airs on KBS2 in South Korea every Monday and Tuesday at 21:45 (KST). Its next episode will premiere on Monday, July 3rd.

Outside the country, Amazon Prime Video is streaming Heartbeat in select regions.

Here is a hint though, as I found it difficult to find Heartbeat via Amazon’s sometimes abysmal search system.

Search for the drama with the keyword “Ok Taec Yeon”, however, and Heartbeat should pop up in the first few search results.
