The Japanese action thriller House of Ninjas premiered on Netflix on February 15th, 2024 and, just three days later, was already at #2 on the Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart on the streaming platform.

Those views amounted to more than 29.8 million hours of the drama watched so far.

The series was also in the Top 10 in 71 countries during that period, including the United States, Panama, Chile, Canada, Argentina, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Kenya, South Africa, Bahrain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Australia, as well as in its home country of Japan.

What is House of Ninjas about?

The 8-episode Japanese series was created by American director and writer Dave Boyle (Big Dreams Little Tokyo) exclusively for Netflix.

It tells the story of the Tawara family, one of the last great ninja clans, and one that had retired after a past incident forced them to reassess their priorities.

Now, however, they must return to the shadowy missions they used to carry out, as a crisis is lurking that could massively damage not only the Tawara family themselves but also Japan.

House of Ninjas stars Kento Kaku, Yosuke Eguchi, Tae Kimura, Kengo Kora, Aju Makita, Nobuko Miyamoto, and Riho Yoshioka.

All eight episodes of the action thriller are now available to stream on Netflix.
