Jade Bird’s cover of Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ in BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge is stripped back and dramatic

British singer songwriter Jade Bird was in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge this week, where she sang a superb stripped back cover of Halsey’s ‘Without Me‘, along with a performance of her own latest single ‘My Motto‘.

Jade Bird’s cover of Halsey’s ‘Without Me‘ turned the track into a soft folk song, that was even more melodramatic than the original.

Particularly with the addition of the strings, and as the emotion in the song builds beautifully with the song’s progression, and then the track ends abruptly with that utterly gorgeous bass riff.

Halsey’s ‘Without Me‘, the original pop version, was released in October, 2018. It hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and sovwas officially Halsey’s first solo number one hit.
