The X Factor UK judges were in for a shock over the weekend when 21-year-old Jasmine Leigh Morris from Swansea walked onto the stage as, at first, it seemed she wasn’t that confident. But, when she began to sing Emeli Sande’s ‘Clown’, all four judges were floored, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (who I’ll always think of as Cheryl Cole) looked particularly impressed.
That’s because Jasmine Leigh Morris has an incredible voice. So good, as Simon Cowell said after she had finished singing “It was if you had written that song yourself”. He then told her, though, “If you get through, I think that you’ve really really got to start believing in yourself”.
And, yes, while Simon is definitely right, and Jasmine Leigh Morris will get further faster if she boosts her self-confidence, you certainly can’t fault her performance on Sunday night’s show. She really was spectacular.
Watch her below. Effortless, isn’t it?
