Jessie Ware releases ‘Selfish Love’ second single from third album

British R&B singer Jessie Ware released ‘Selfish Love‘ today. It is the second single in a month from her soon-to-be-released third studio album and is the follow up to last month’s lead single ‘Midnight.

And is it just me or does Ware sound like Sade again here? Because I listened to ‘Selfish Love just once and was immediately transported back to the 1980s when I used to listen to Sade’s gorgeous album Diamond Life just about non-stop.

Either way, it’s a pretty song. It even starts off with a little Spanish guitar for good measure.

Besides, ‘Midnight‘ definitely had a 1980s feel to it as well. So maybe that’s what Ware is going for with this new album? A little bit of retro.

Jessie Ware’s ‘Selfish Love‘ also comes with a music video directed by Tom Beard and that is lovely as well, with Jessie and her lover traveling somewhere in Europe. When they stop at a house, she soon hears her lover on the phone and discovers he is having an affair. After a little while ignoring his transgressions, she decides she has had enough, pushes him in the pool and then shoots him.

Okay, so not the lovely video you initially think it is.

There is no word yet as to the name of Jessie Ware’s third studio album or when it will be released. Talk has been about it seeing the light of day towards the end of the year so, hopefully, it’s not too long away. When it is, it will be released on the Universal Music label.

Meanwhile, listen to Jessie Ware’s ‘Selfish Love‘ and watch the music video below.
