As anyone who watches NBC during the Olympics knows, they offer the worst Olympic coverage you have ever seen. Anywhere.
But, that wasn’t important to tens of thousands of people last night, as they waited for NBC to reveal the second Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer. And reveal it they finally did. About two and a half hours into their evening coverage.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, the leader who is going to steal the Death Star plans, James Earl Jones as Darth Vader (voice anyway), and Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor. The movie is directed by Gareth Edwards (Monster, Godzilla), and will be the first stand-alone film in the Star Wars series.
And, from the second Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we learned a few interesting things.
Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) might be blind, but he is still going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Jyn (Felicity Jones) looks like she’s going to be a true leader. And, oh yeah, millions of fans probably just wet themselves with happiness at the closing few seconds.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is due for release in movie theaters on 16th December, 2016. Watch the trailer below.
