K-drama The Player 2 Ep 2 ratings fall slightly but still solid for a Mon/Tues drama

The new tvN drama The Player 2: Master of Swindlers, Episode 2 aired last night to a teeny tiny fall in ratings — but a fall that was so small, it’s pretty much inconsequential this early on in the game.

According to Nielsen Korea, The Player 2, Episode 2 earned 3.96 percent of the nationwide audience last night, which is a small decrease from its previous episode‘s 4.18 percent.

The drama experienced a slightly larger ratings drop in Seoul, earning 4.06 percent of the viewership on Tuesday night compared to Monday night’s 4.65 percent.

Both the nationwide and Seoul ratings, though, are still very solid for a Monday/Tuesday drama, and still pretty close to the average rating the Korean drama earned for its first season.

With Episode 2 ratings for many dramas often seeing a small fall before they rise again as well, as audiences decide if its their cup of tea or not, I have always said it is usually around Episode 4 or 5 when you learn an audience’s real intent.

Let’s see how this one eventually does then, eh?

The Player 2 still earning solid ratings from international viewers as well

As for ratings from international viewers, The Player 2 is currently earning a solid 8.1 out of 10 from the often-stingy users on My Drama List.

While folks watching the second season of the Korean crime drama on Viki, where the Koran drama is now streaming, are giving it a much higher 9.6 out of 10 so far.

The next episode of Season 2 of the Korean drama will air next Monday night, June 10th, on tvN in South Korea.

We’ll report back with its latest ratings then here on Leo Sigh.
