K. Flay’s Sir Sly remix of ‘Giver’ is softer and sadder than the original

American hip hop singer and songwriter K. Flay, aka Kristine Meredith Flaherty, has released the Sir Sly remix version of her single ‘Giver‘ today. The original track is from her Every Where Is Some Where album.

The Sir Sly remix of the song comes with a much softer feel, and a much sadder vibe, and is far less of an ‘attitude’ rock song than its’ original. K. Flay vocals are laid under the music more than they are on top of it too, which gives the song a more dream-like quality to it.

K. Flay herself has just come off the best year of her life when it comes to her music, headlining sold-out shows around the world, performing on several of the top American late night talk shows and giving critically-acclaimed performances at some of the world’s biggest festivals.

She even released a book of notes from fans called Crush Me.

Not that it looks like the 32-year-old singer is planning on slowing down in 2018 either. Her music and album are nominated for two Grammy Awards this year — Best Rock Song (‘Blood in the Cut’) and Best Engineered Album (Every Where is Some Where), and she has recently announced her 2018 North American with a slew of dates in the U.S. and Canada.

After that, she will be opening for Imagine Dragons all over Europe on their Evolve World Tour. Check out all her upcoming concert dates here.
