King Princess Saturday Night Live debut superb with performances of ‘1950’ and ‘Hit the Back’

The King Princess Saturday Night Live debut this weekend could not have gone better, with the New York native giving superb performances of her songs ‘Hit the Back‘ and ‘1950‘ to both critical and fan acclaim.

Both songs are from her recently released new album Cheap Queen. An album she also promoted earlier in the month with another live performance on the late night talk show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Indie pop rock singer King Princess, aka Mikaela Mullaney Straus, has been making waves in the music industry since she released her debut single ‘1950‘ back in February, 2018.

That song gained a huge amount of attention when former One Directioner Harry Styles tweeted a lyric from the song. The track was eventually certified Gold and then 2 x Platinum.

King Princess received further attention this year when she came second in the BBC’s Sound of 2019 and when it was announced she would be playing at both Coachella and Lollapalooza.

That attention became even bigger when Harry Styles chose her to be the opening act for the European portion of his 2020 concert tour Love on Tour.

The King Princess Saturday Night Live debut wowed fans, and proved once again what a stunning live performer the just 20-year-old singer has already become.

Watch King Princess’s performances of both ‘Hit the Back‘ and ‘1950‘ on Saturday Night Live this weekend and in the videos below and you’ll see that.
