Kylie Minogue’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection is a fan must-buy

Now I have to admit, I have not really been a Kylie Minogue fan for many years.

Not because I don’t like Kylie, I do, but because years ago, when I had a gay roomate, he used to blast her music for hours on end.

Because, let’s face it, Minogue is massively loved by many members of the gay community. To a point that it becomes a bit of an obsession. Or, at least it was to my roommate.

As a straight supporter of the gay community myself, I am a bit sad I can’t often listen to Kylie Minogue’s music, as she is such a huge supporter of the gay community herself.

But I decided to make an exception today, as Kylie Minogue’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection has just been released. An enormous 42-track album that features many of the Minogue songs you love.

Classic Kylie Minogue favorites

Starting out with the classic Can’t Get You Out of My Head, the album moves on into Love at First Sight, In Your Eyes, All The Lovers, On a Night Like This, and Red Blooded Woman, right through to Celebration, What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before), and What Do I Have To Do.

Minogue’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection also features radio mixes of Put Yourself in My Place, and Confide in Me, Kids sung with Robbie Williams, the DNA mix of Shocked, the 7″ mix of The Loco-Motion, and the 2011 remastered version of her duet Where The Wild Roses Grow with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

In other words, songs from all of her unbelievable 30 year-long career.

Of course, some fans will be disappointed as Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection does not feature Some Kind of Bliss, Did It Again, Giving You Up and a few other iconic tracks.

But it does include a new track — New York City — that was originally recorded for her 2018 album release Golden, and then not included.

You can buy Kylie Minogue’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection in a variety of release options, including a Deluxe CD, various LP releases and a limited edition double cassette.

Kylie herself has also just kicked off her Summer 2019 concert tour, which will run through 3rd August, 2019. She has a number of festival performances coming up as well, including this weekend’s Glastonbury.

Meanwhile, check out this interesting phone interview Kylie gave Billboard, as she talks about some of the songs on her new collection, and of course, listen to Kylie Minogue’s Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection in its entirety in the Spotify widget below.
