La Roux’s hit single ‘In For The Kill‘ featured on Killjoys
La Roux’s synthpop number ‘In For The Kill‘ was featured on Killjoys (Season 1, Episode 7 – “Kiss, Kiss, Bye Bye”) on Friday night (July 31st). The same episode where we also got to hear Groenland’s fabulous ‘Immune‘ (wasn’t that a good night for great music?)
‘In For The Kill‘ was La Roux’s break through single when it was first released back in 2009. It hit the UK singles chart number two spot where it then sat for four weeks, ending up becoming one of the most best-selling downloaded songs of all time in the UK. It’s since resurfaced with other artists doing covers of the popular song.
As for La Roux, they’re a British synthpop band that have been in existence since 2006. Well, I say ‘they’. In reality, La Roux nowadays is just singer Elly Jackson, she of the fabulous ethereally high voice and awesome bright red hair (hence the name ‘La Roux’).
Her latest album is called Trouble in Paradise, which was released last July.
Meanwhile, listen to La Roux singing ‘In For The Kill’ in the video below. Such excellent synthpop.
