According to South Korean news media, actress Lee Joo Bin has been confirmed to be joining the Queen of Tears cast.
The upcoming tvN romantic drama has been written by screenwriter Park Ji Eun, also known as the writer of Crash Landing on You, My Love from the Star, The Producers and The Legend of the Blue Sea, so this one should be good.
And is it just me, or are tvN dramas becoming some of your favorites? Because doesn’t it seem lately that half the dramas you cannot stop watching originate on tvN?
Lee Joo Bin will join Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won on Queen of Tears (working title), and will be playing the wife of Hong Soo Cheol (played by Kwak Dong Yeon), the younger brother of main lead Hong Hae In (Kim Ji Won).
Queen of Tears (aka 눈물의 여왕 in Korean) tells the story of Baek Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun), a lawyer working at the Queens Group department store conglomerate and his wife Hong Hae In, the heiress and “Queen” of said department stores.
A married couple who suddenly find themselves in a crisis they are determined to survive.
Meanwhile, Lee Joo Bin recently finished a supporting role in the Netflix drama Love to Hate You, as well as last year’s Love in Contract and Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – Part 2.
The South Korean actress has also been named as one of the supporting cast in the 2024 movie The Roundup: Punishment.
As Queen of Tears is already in production, and scheduled to premiere before the end of 2023, it looks like this year will be quite a busy one for the popular 33-year-old actress.
Let’s just hope the character she plays in Queen of Tears will not be like the usual unhinged ones she has been playing for a while now.
