Listen to Aly & A.J.’s ‘Hold Out’ from The Good Doctor, Season 5, Ep. 9, “Yippee Ki-Yay”– it’s gorgeously sad

Pop duo and sisters Aly & A.J.’s ‘Hold Out‘ was one of the tracks showing up on The Good Doctor last night — The Good Doctor, Season 5, Episode 9, “Yippee Ki-Yay“.

The cool and very sweet pop rock song was heard as Lexi and Nelly are talking about their childhood.

Aly & AJ’s ‘Hold Out‘ is a recent release from the sisters.

It is one of the tracks from their fourth studio album A Touch of the Beat Gets You Up on Your Feet Gets You Out and Then Into the Sun, which came out in May, 2021 via AWAL and Aly & AJ Music, and made it to #96 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales chart.

The album was the duo’s first new music in more than 14 years, and included songs that had a definite 1960s and 1970s feel to them.

Far different than previous music released by the American pop rock duo.

And an interesting fact about this song, the iconic and utterly fabulous Melissa Etheridge played guitar on ‘Hold Out‘.

Listen to Aly & A.J.’s ‘Hold Out‘ from The Good Doctor on their A Touch of the Beat Gets You Up on Your Feet Gets You Out and Then Into the Sun album, and in the video.

The song is so damned pretty, and don’t you love those gorgeously sad lyrics:

You know I never meant to be a burden to you
I never want to cause you harm
I know what heavy conversation does to you
I wish I never brought it up at all
But some days I need a rescue
