Andra Day’s fabulous song ‘Rise Up‘ was featured on the NBC TV series The Blacklist last week (Season 3, Episode 10 – “The Director: Conclusion“). And it’s a song that has been getting a lot of attention since it was released on Day’s debut album Cheers To The Fall last August.
‘Rise Up‘ was the second single from the album, with Day being invited to sing the track on a number of TV shows over the last few months, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Good Morning America.
The album itself has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. We’ll have to wait until February to see if she wins them.
And it’s not surprising ‘Rise Up‘ has been such a success for Andra Day. It’s a beautiful song, her voice is gorgeous, and it’s a song that is full of so much hope it’s more of an anthem than anything else.
