Canadian singer songwriter Andy Shauf’s ‘Martha Sways‘ was played on the new episode of the hit medical drama New Amsterdam last night — New Amsterdam, Season 4, Episode 5, “This Be The Verse” — the episode that aired on October 19th, 2021.
The soft, guitar-driven song was playing in the scene where Iggy is helping Helen come to terms with her past.
Andy Shauf’s ‘Martha Sways‘ is the last track on the indie pop, folk rock singer’s fifth studio album The Party, which was released in 2016 via the ANTI- record label.
The album itself is interesting, not just for its cool tracks but for the fact Shauf recorded every song on the album in order and playing almost every instrument himself.
The Party was shortlisted for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize for Canadian Album of the Year, which was ultimately won by Kaytranada’s debut abum ‘99%‘.
Shauf currently has seven full-length albums out with Wilds, his latest, arriving last month.
The Canadian artist gained a lot of attention last year when Barack Obama placed his song ‘The Neon Skyline’ on his summer listening list.
Listen to Andy Shauf’s mellow and sweet ‘Martha Sways‘ as heard on New Amsterdam in the video and on the singer’s album The Party.
