British indie electronica duo Aquilo‘s song ‘Silhoutte‘ was featured on The Vampire Diaries on Friday night — (Season 7, Episode 22 — “Gods and Monsters“, May 13, 2016). The track is the latest release from the pair, and it is a melancholic power ballad with those gorgeous heart-wrenching lyrics British artists seem to do so well.
Devil’s on your shoulder
Strangers in your head
As if you don’t remember
As if you can’t forget
It’s only been a moment
It’s only been a lifetime
But tonight you’re a stranger
Aquilo themselves have been together for a couple of years. The duo consists of Lancashire lads Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher who hale from the Lake District, one of the UK’s most beautiful areas.
The two began collaborating on a number of singles back in 2013 that soon received attention from the BBC. So much so, Aquilo was invited to perform on the BBC stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2014 much to the delight of their fans.
The duo currently have three EPs out and, with this foray into The Vampire Diaries world, are now beginning to make a name for themselves as singer songwriters creating stunning music perfect for TV soundtracks.
