Norwegian singer Aurora sang an incredibly touching cover version of David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars‘ at London’s Union Chapel last month, during an event to remember the life of the late British superstar. A cover that also showed up on season 3 of the HBO series Girls.
This week, Aurora has released the official audio for ‘Life on Mars‘. It is also currently selling on digital music sites as part of the Girls Vol. 3 soundtrack. You can listen to it in the video below.
As for the phenomenal Aurora, she also released her debut album this month.
Called All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, it includes her hit singles ‘Running With The Wolves‘, ‘Conqueror‘, and ‘Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)‘ and, of course, her John Lewis Christmas Advert song ‘Half The World Away‘.
All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend is currently being reviewed on Metacritic with an 80 metascore, with fans raving about its beauty, starkness, melodrama and sorrow.
Aurora herself will be popping up all over Europe in the next few months, as she kicks off a tour to promote her album. Keep an eye on her website for concert dates as they’re released.
