Listen to Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ from Minions: The Rise of Gru

Minions: The Rise of Gru is now showing in movie theaters around the world and, along with its craziness, the animated movie also came with some pretty stellar music on its trailers and on the film’s soundtrack.

That includes Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage‘, which was played on one of the trailers for the computer-animated film.

Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage‘ is a rap rock song that was released as the first single from the American rap group’s fourth studio album Ill Communication.

That album came out in 1994.

And, while the song itself charted in five countries, including at #15 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles, it gained even more traction when the Spike Jonze directed music video was released.

That video was a brilliant parody of hit 1970s cop shows like Starsky and Hutch.

So loved was it, the video went on to be nominated for several MTV awards.

Listen to Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage‘ as heard on the Minions: The Rise of Gru trailer in the song’s music video, and on the group’s Ill Communication album below.

You can also check out the film’s latest official trailer, which features ‘Sabotage‘ down there as well.
