The utterly fabulous piano rock track Ben Folds Five’s ‘Kate‘ showed up on the new episode of This Is Us this week — This Is Us, Season 4, Episode 13, “A Hell of a Week: Part Three“.
The song was played as Kate and Mark are in the car.
And, with lyrics like these:

it was the perfect track.
Ben Folds Five’s ‘Kate‘ was originally released on the alternative rock trio’s sophomore album Whatever and Ever Amen. It tells the story of a man who is so in love with a woman called Kate, he doesn’t just want to be with her he wants to be her.
That slightly odd storyline also comes with a just as odd shot-in-one-take music video (but also kinda cool). It features the three Ben Folds Five guys curled up in bed together half naked singing.
