Listen to Ben Harper’s ‘Waiting on an Angel’ from Roswell, New Mexico, Season 2, Ep. 4

American singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harper’s ‘Waiting on an Angel‘ was featured on the soundtrack of the new episode of the sci-fi series Roswell, New Mexico last night (April 7th, 2020) — Roswell, New Mexico, Season 2, Episode 4, “What If God Was One of Us”.

The lovely acoustic track was played at the end of the episode.

Ben Harper’s ‘Waiting on an Angel‘ is from the folk rock singer’s debut studio album Welcome to the Cruel World.

The song itself is so sweet and soothing, and lovely in these troubled times.

Released in 1995 on the Virgin Records label, ‘Waiting on an Angel’ was one of 13 tracks on the album. Fourteen if you count the 30 second ‘hidden track’.

The album charted in France and Australia but not in the United States. Yet it still managed to sell over half a million copies in the United States in subsequent years.

Since its release, the prolific Harper has gone on to release another 13 studio albums, five live albums, two virtual albums, five other miscellaneous albums and an EP.

He has also won three Grammy Awards and been nominated four other times.

In recent news, it was announced today that 50-year-old Harper has launched his own record label — Mad Bunny Records. He also announced the signing of his first artist — indie artist Birdthrower.

The labels first releases will be digital, with CDs and vinyl being considered in coming months.

Harper himself is still signed to Anti Records but, if he is successful with his own company, who knows he may just switch.
