The American New Wave band Berlin’s song ‘Take My Breath Away‘ showed up on the season finale of the TV Land series Younger this week — Younger, Season 6, Episode 12, “Forever“.
The song was played as we see Josh walk away from Liza at the wedding. Then Charles walks up to her, and asks her to marry him.
And, if the track sounded familiar but you can’t place where you have heard it before, if you have watched the iconic action film Top Gun, yep… there.
The track was the second single from the Top Gun soundtrack.
A soundtrack album that eventually went on to be certified 9x Platinum — becoming one of the biggest-selling movie soundtracks of all time.
‘Take My Breath Away‘ also won a Grammy Award for Giorgio Moroder (music) and Tom Whitlock (lyrics), and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

As for Younger, it stars Sutton Foster as Liza Miller, Hilary Duff as Kelsey Peters, Debi Mazar as Maggie, Miriam Shor as Diana Trout, Nico Tortorella as Josh and Peter Hermann as Charles.
The series has already been renewed for a Season 7, which you can expect to air sometime next year.
