Billie Holliday’s classic song ‘I’m A Fool To Want You‘ was featured on the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries this week — May 3rd, 2017, Season 8, Episode 15, “We’re Planning a June Wedding“.
It was played while Bonnie was listening to music and then Enzo appeared behind her.
‘I’m A Fool To Want You‘ was originally composed by Frank Sinatra who also recorded it with the Ray Charles Singers in 1951, but the song has become quintessentially Billie Holliday more than just about any other singer’s. Billie Holliday recorded the track for her 1958 album Lady In Satin, the last album she ever released.
The track has since been recorded by Shirley Bassey, Tony Bennett, Chet Baker, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Tom Jones, Peggy Lee, and a slew of other singers as it is thought of today as a jazz ‘standard’.
