The Billy Joel smash hit ‘Uptown Girl‘ was one of the tracks featured on the first episode of the new season of The Boys this week — The Boys, Season 3, Episode 1, “Payback“.
The track was playing during Hughie’s morning routine.
Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl‘ came out in late 1983 as the second single from his ninth studio album An Innocent Man.
The song was a smash hit for the singer songwriter, not only charting at #1 in Ireland, Scotland and the United Kingdom, but also charting high up the charts in 17 other countries.
The music video for the song, featuring Joel’s then future wife supermodel Christie Brinkley, also charted high on video charts in Ireland and the UK.
Joel wrote ‘Uptown Girl‘ about his then-relationship with another supermodel, Australian Elle McPherson.
But, by the time the song came out and the video was due to be shot, he was in love with Brinkley and married her soon after.
