American country rock band Blackberry Smoke’s ‘Sleeping Dogs‘ was played on the soundtrack of this week’s episode of the extremely popular drama series Yellowstone — Season 3, Episode 2, “Freight Trains and Monsters“.
The track was the song heard as we see Agent Hendon driving up to the Sweet Grass Country Fairgrounds.
Blackberry Smoke’s ‘Sleeping Dogs‘ is from the Atlanta, Georgia-based band’s third studio album The Whippoorwill.
Released back in 2012, the album spawned two singles and sold over 51,000 copies in the U.S. during its first few weeks of release.
The 13-track album ultimately charted on five U.S. charts, including at #8 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and at #10 on the Indie Albums chart.
It also briefly hit charts in both the United Kingdom and Germany.

There is also an excellent live version of both ‘Sleeping Dogs‘ and ‘Come Together‘ the band played at The Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado in 2017 that is well worth a watch.
Yellowstone is currently airing on the Paramount Network.
