Scottish singer, songwriter and DJ Calvin Harris’s ‘Feel So Close‘ was one of the songs played on this week’s episode of the Hulu drama The Girl from PlainvilleThe Girl from Plainville, Season 1, Episode 5, “Mirrorball“.

The upbeat dance pop song was playing at the beginning of the dance.

Calvin Harris’s ‘Feel So Close‘ was the second single from the Scottish singer’s third studio album 18 Months, which came out in 2012 via the Columbia, Ultra, Fly Eye and Deconstruction record labels.

The song was written by Harris after he had tried to go in a different direction with his music — using female singers on his songs rather than singing them himself.

But, after executives at Columbia Records didn’t like his new music, he want back to his studio and wrote and recorded ‘Feel So Close’.

The song ended up being one of Calvin Harris’s biggest hits, making it to #2 on the UK Singles chart, #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and then going on to chart in 18 other countries.

The video has Harris driving in a truck in the American west as groups of people dance, do gymnastics, throw a lasso and otherwise enjoy themselves as the song plays.

It gives off a light-hearted, fun feeling, which is just what this song is all about.
