Canadian singer songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe‘ is onen of the songs that showed up on Quantum Leap last night. In its case, during the car wash scene — Quantum Leap, Season 1, Episode 12, “Let Them Play“.

Call Me Maybe‘ was first released in 2012 for the singer’s second EP Curiosity, and was then re-released on her album Kiss.

The bubblegum pop track became a big hit for the Canadian singer, charting at #1 in 14 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Denmark and New Zealand.

It also charted in the Top 5 in eight other countries, and was eventually certified Gold or several times Platinum in more than a dozen countries.

The track was talked about for its incredibly catchy melody, and its theme of love at first sight.

The ‘Call Me Maybe‘ video explored that theme even further, with Jepsen trying to get the boy next door to fall in love with her, only to ultimately learn that he actually liked men.

The pop track was nominated for two Grammy Awards, and was also named MTVs ‘Song of the Year’.
