Canadian pop rock folk singer songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Western Wind‘ was played on Gossip Girl last night — Gossip Girl, Season 2, Episode 5, “Games, Trains and Automobiles“.
The song is the lead single from the singer’s sixth studio album The Loneliest Time, which came out earlier this year on Interscope Records.
Unfortunately, the single was not a success for Jepsen, possibly because its more laidback feel and ‘less electro pop’ is quite a bit different than what the pop singer normally produces.
The track also didn’t chart anywhere except in Japan, where it made it to #11 on the more obscure Japan Hot Overseas chart.
‘Western Wind‘ also came with a somewhat bland music video featuring the singer wearing various floaty outfits and being filmed singing while standing in fields and in other pretty country locations, which didn’t help the song grab fan’s attention much.
Listen to Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Western Wind‘ as heard on Gossip Girl on that music video, and on the singer’s The Loneliest Time album.
You can hear more music from the latest season of Gossip Girl here on Leo Sigh, and watch the drama series via HBO Max.
