The fabulous country pop singer Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats‘ was one of the songs playing on the comedy series How I Met Your Father yesterday — How I Met Your Father, Season 2, Episode 7, “A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Valentine’s Day“.
The song was played in the scene where Sophie and Valentina decide to annihilate Brendan’s bike with baseball bats, now they know he was two-timing both of them.
Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats‘ is the fourth single from the singer’s debut studio album Some Hearts.
The song almost immediately became an enormous hit for the singer in both Canada and the United States.
In the U.S., ‘Before He Cheats‘ climbed high up five charts, with its best placing at #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In Canada, ‘Before He Cheats‘ was just as successful, hitting high up five charts, and making it to #1 on the Canadian Country chart.
It then went on to win two Grammy Awards for Underwood — one for Best Country Song, and the other for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
The video also spawned an official music video featuring Underwood dealing with her cheating boyfriend, eventually destroying his truck in revenge for his behavior.
Yep, that How I Met Your Father scene had a lot in common with Underwood’s video, eh?
