Listen to Cello Sonata No. 2 in C Major, G. 6 from Hawkeye, Season 1, Episode 5

Fedor Amosov and Jen-Ru Sun’s ‘Cello Sonata No. 2 in C Major, G. 6 (arr. A. Piatti for cello and piano) : I. Allegro’ was played on the new episode of the crime/superhero series Hawkeye this week — Hawkeye, Season 1, Episode 5, “Ronin“.

The song was played as Yelena is sitting in that gorgeous living room.

The instrumental piece was written by Italian/Spanish composer Luigi Boccherini in 1768, and then arranged for piano and cello over 100 years later by influential Italian cellist and composer Alfredo Piatti.

The performance of the piece by Russian cellist Fedor Amosov and Taiwanese pianist Jen-Ru Sun was released in late 2010 via the Naxos record label.

Listen to Cello Sonata No. 2 in C Major, G. 6 (arr. A. Piatti for cello and piano) : I. Allegro as heard on last night’s Hawkeye down below.

It is a beautiful piece of music, and it is always nice to see a popular contemporary TV show still going back to the classics now and again for its soundtrack.

The six-episode superhero series Hawkeye, of course, is based on Marvel Comics characters.

The mini-series follows Clint Barton as he partners with Kate Bishop to defeat his enemies. All so that he can be home for Christmas. Yep, that’s the premise.

Hawkeye is the fifth series to come out based on Marvel characters, with all six episodes currently streaming on Disney+.
