Listen to Charlotte Day Wilson’s Work from Euphoria, Season

Canadian pop/soul/ R&B singer Charlotte Day Wilson’s Work was one of a massive 27 songs that showed up on the new episode of the HBO teen drama Euphoria this week — Euphoria, Season 1, Episode 3, “Made You Look”.

Yes, the Music Supervisor of that show is definitely cramming in as much music as she/he can!

Wilson’s Work was played early in the show as we see Jules and Nate texting each other.

Work is from Charlotte Day Wilson’s 2016 six-track EP CDW. It was the Canadian singer’s second EP, and was produced by Howie Beck.

Wilson’s ‘Work‘ was nominated for SOCAN Songwriting Prize, with the music video for the song being awarded the 2018 Prism Prize.

The video is a simple premise in that it shows a long line of women traveling down a continuous escalator while Day Wilson herself pops up a couple of times wearing a bright red hoodie and singing. The last 50-odd seconds of the video list the names of all the women starring in the video.

In an example of how Day Wilson supports other women in the music industry, she and her director  Fantavious Fritz decided to use the Prism Prize prize money to set up a grant for emerging female video directors.

Charlotte Day Wilson currently has three EPs out, with the third one, Stone Woman, released just last year.

As for Euphoria, that show is getting the usual crawling-out-of-the-woodwork right-wingers slamming the show due to its graphic sexual content, and asking for the show to be pulled from the airwaves. To be expected, though, in still-stuck-in-the-Bible-Belt America.
