Listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’ from Big Sky

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain‘ was that lovely song playing at the opening of the first episode of the new season of Big Sky on ABC last night — Big Sky, Season 3, Episode 1, “Do You Love an Apple“.

A lovely song that, unfortunately for the hiker at the beginning of the episode, didn’t result in him having a lovely ending to his hike.

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain‘ was written by band founder John Fogerty, and was released as the lead single from the band’s sixth studio album Pendulum.

The track was one of 10 songs on the album, all of which were originals, and all written by Fogerty.

Pendulum was the last full-length album the band released before guitarist Tom Fogerty decided to go solo, and one of the last that came out before the band broke up.

Have You Ever Seen the Rain‘ was written about the idealism of the 60s.

An idealism that was lost in the 1970s as the Vietnam War raged, and the Kent State shootings became a national disgrace.

It went on to chart high in 16 countries, making it to #1 in South Africa and Malaysia. It also charted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #3 on the Cash Box Top 100 chart.

Listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain‘ from those creepy opening scenes of last night’s Big Sky in a new music video released for the song back in 2018, and on the band’s Pendulum album.
