Listen to Cymande’s ‘Getting It Back‘ from Fargo Season 2
The second series of the TV series ‘Fargo‘ is being universally heralded as one of the best series in years. Not only because of the story with its crazy twists and turns, or the writing, or because of the superb acting from the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Jean Smart and Ted Danson, but also because of the music used on the soundtrack.
Songs like Cymande’s ‘Getting It Back‘, which was featured on ‘Fargo‘ (Season 2, Episode 10 — “I Live Here Now“) on Sunday night, and which exemplifies the period the series is set in perfectly.
As for Cymande, they are a funk group from the UK that were big in the early 1970s, but had disbanded by mid-decade. Last year, however, the band got back together for the third time, and are currently working on a new album.
It must have been nice for them then, in the midst of recording new music, to see their hit song ‘Getting It Back‘ being so well received on ‘Fargo‘.
