The Apple TV science fiction drama Invasion is back this week for a second season, with a stellar soundtrack along with its cool plot.
Songs on the soundtrack like David Bowie’s ‘Moonage Daydream‘, which was the second Bowie song played on the new episode — this time on the Invasion, Season 2, Episode 1, “Something’s Changed‘ end credits.
David Bowie’s ‘Moonage Daydream‘ was one of the iconic British singer songwriter’s tracks that came out on his albumĀ The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
That album was released in 1972, and it was the second time Bowie recorded the song after he initially released it as a single the year before.
The second recording is much different than the first as, not only did it feature Bowie’s backing band the Spiders from Mars, but it was also much more of a glam-rock song than its initial recorded version.
‘Moonage Daydream‘ has since gone on to become one of the singer’s most critically acclaimed songs, and one of his best.
The track also has an interesting history, which you can learn about via this Wikipedia article.
Listen to David Bowie’s ‘Moonage Daydream‘ as heard over the Invasion end credits on the 2012 remastered version of his The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album via Spotify, and in the video.
You can also heard a cool live performance of the song he gave in the music video below.
