The late American rock and roll country singer Del Shannon’s ‘Keep Searchin’ (We’ll Follow the Sun)‘ was played over the end credits of last night’s Only Murders in the Building — Only Murders in the Building, Season 1, Episode 8, “Fan Fiction“.
And I have to admit, while I was very familiar with the song, especially the chorus, I had no idea who had actually released the song.
That turns out to be Del Shannon, who released ‘Keep Searchin’ (We’ll Follow the Sun)’ in 1964 via Amy Records.
The song tells the story of a man who tries to find a good hiding place for himself and the abused girl he loves.
The extremely short track was a major hit for Shannon, staying in the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 14 weeks, and also charting very high on charts around Europe.

Shannon himself sadly committed suicide in early 1990, after many years suffering from depression. He was only 55 years old.
As for Only Murders in the Building, it only has two episodes left before its first season ends.
And I have gotta say, I have enjoyed every minute of the show so far, especially the surprise of how good Selena Gomez is in the role of Mabel, and so am happy to see it getting a second season coming out sometime next year.
