Listen to Dionne Warwick’s ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ from Bird Box

Dionne Warwick’s iconic soul/pop song ‘I Say A Little Prayer‘ one of three Bird Box songs

The classic Dionne Warwick track ‘I Say A Little Prayer‘ was one of just three songs used on the new Netflix movie Bird Box this month.

The song was written exclusively for Dionne Warwick by iconic American composer Burt Bacharach and his partner at the time Hal David.

It was originally recorded in 1966, but was not released until 1967 due to Bacharach not liking the track as he felt it sounded too rushed.

The song was eventually released on The Windows of the World. Warwick’s eighth studio album, and then as the second single from the album a few months later.

I Say A Little Prayer’ peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart when it was released, but has since become an iconic 1960s-era song.

Both for Dionne Warwick, and for Aretha Franklin, who released her own version of the track in 1968.
