Listen to Dua Lipa’s ‘Don’t Start Now’ from Only Murders in the Building, Season 1, Ep. 1

British singer songwriter Dua Lipa‘s music has been popping up all over the place in the last couple of years, including on TV shows like the soon-to-be-hit Only Murders in the Building where Dua Lipa’s ‘Don’t Start Now‘ played last night — Only Murders in the Building, Season 1, Episode 1, “True Crime“.

The song was heard as Mabel (Selena Gomez) begins her monologue.

Dua Lipa’s funk-based ‘Don’t Start Now’ was the lead single from the singer’s second studio album Future Nostalgia, which was released via the Warner label in 2020.

The song was notable at the time for its use of sounds reminiscent of 1980s disco music, which definitely made critics stand up and notice.

Don’t Start Now‘ became Lipa’s highest charting and most successful song, charting in almost 60 countries, and hitting the top spot in Brazil, Croatia, Canada, Hungary, Ecuador, Serbia, Ireland, Israel, Slovenia, Singapore and the United States.

In the U.S., ‘Don’t Start Now‘ was #1 on four Billboard charts, and was nominated for three Grammy Awards.

The song also spawned a music video, which was directed by Nabil Elderkin, featuring Dua Lipa dancing at both a club and a masquerade ball.

The video, which has received more than half a billion plays on YouTube since its release, starts with Lipa exiting a club and slamming the camera she is carrying to the ground.

The video then rewinds and shows the events of her evening.

Listen to Dua Lipa’s ‘Don’t Start Now‘ as heard on last night’s Only Murders in the Building in that video, as well as on her hit album Future Nostalgia.

Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short is currently streaming on Hulu.
