Listen to Dum Dum Girls’ ‘Coming Down’ from Bird Box, it’s hypnotic

Listen to Dum Dum Girls’ ‘Coming Down‘ — indie rock at its finest

The American indie rock band Dum Dum Girls’ hypnotic song ‘Coming Down‘ was featured on the new Sandra Bullock film Bird Box this month.

It was heard during the movie’s opening painting scene. The song itself was the lead single from the Dum Dum Girls’ second studio album Only in Dreams, released on the Sub Pop label in 2011.

It is a song that is as well-liked by Music Supervisors as it is by indie rock fans, as it has also previously been used on The Vampire Diaries, Orange is the New Black and Gossip Girl.

As for the new Netflix exclusive movie Bird Box, it is a huge success already for the streaming service. And for Sandra Bullock,  Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich and Trevante Rhodes, the stars of the film.

That is because Netflix has just announced more than 45 million accounts watched the film during its first seven days of release. An enormous number of people for a Netflix film — and, according to the streaming service, “the best first 7 days ever for a Netflix film”.

Bird Box is based on the novel of the same name by Josh Malerman. Malerman himself is no stranger to indie rock music like that put out by Dum Dum Girls either, seeing as how he is also lead singer of the band High Strung.
